Lipinski, Badgers Beat West Alabama, 2-0

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Alexander Lipinski scored a pair of goals to lead Spring Hill College to a 2-0 Gulf South Conference men's soccer victory Sunday at Tiger Stadium.

Spring Hill improved to 2-2 with the win, 1-1 in conference play. West Alabama is 3-2 and 1-1.

"Give credit to Spring Hill," UWA head coach Matthew Thorne said. "They were clinical from the go. They outworked us and the results showed."

Lipinski's goals were his fourth and fifth of the season. He is the only Badger with more than one goal this season.

His first goal came in the 28th minute off an assist from Donte Oliver to give Spring Hill a 1-0 lead at the half. His second came in the 72nd minute off an assist from Tilman Schober.

West Alabama outshot the Badgers, 13-7 for the match and 10-4 in the second half. Spring Hill keeper Geraldo Bina had four saves in the shutout. Both Badger shots on goal found the net.

"I am disappointed with our performance," Thorne said. "Now we need to bounce back and focus on Friday."

West Alabama continues a four-match homestand Friday, hosting Auburn-Montgomery for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Spring Hill is host to Delta State on Friday.
