Brador’s two goals leads Tigers over AUM

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama Tigers came out aggressive and it showed with three goals before the half, two by forward Ali Brador, as UWA rolled to a 5-0 victory over AUM.

"I thought we started off the game pretty well. We started off with a high tempo and got the ball moving very quickly," said Thorne. "I thought we had a professional performance. What we really wanted from this was a clean sheet."

Brador scored both his goals in the first half the first at the 48 second mark and then again at the 43:56, bringing his total to four on the season.

Liam Ireland found the back of the net with his goal sandwiched between Brador's coming at the 19:14 mark and accounting for the Tiger's second score of the evening. Gaspard Voituriez-Donnelly tallied an assist on the goal.

Voituriez-Donnelly later knocked in the first goal of the second half with an assist from Rakim Ali to push the score to 4-0. It was the first goal of the season for the French forward.

Josh Forth found the back of the net for the first time this season with an assist from Kyle McLeod to give the Tigers the final 5-0 lead.

"I think we did very well tonight. We got five goals and a clean sheet, so as a coach you're always happy with that," said Head coach Matthew Thorne. "We got a lot of individual scores. It wasn't just one man scoring the five goals, so it shows the depth we had in attack."

UWA outshot the Warhawks 13-7 with eight of those registering as shots on goal for the Tigers in the impressive offensive showing.

"We're happy to get this win tonight, but we have to build on this and keep going forward," said Thorne.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 4-2 overall and AUM drops to 0-6 on the loss.

Next up for the Tigers is a non-conference match against South Carolina-Aiken. AUM hosts Montevallo Sunday.
