LIVINGSTON, Ala. – It was not the ending of the home schedule the West Alabama Tigers hoped for taking a 4-1 defeat to the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers Thursday night in Tiger Stadium Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer action.
UWA falls to 7-7-2 overall and 5-5-1 in the GSC. UAH improves to 9-6-1 on the season and 7-3-1 in the conference.
UAH scored one goal in the first half by Clay Bennett before getting goals in the second half from Rafa Moreno, Deivi Bucio, and Khalil Bell to give the Chargers a decisive 4-1 victory.
Ali Brador scored the lone Tiger goal at the 87:30 mark with an assist from
David Nascimento to avoid the shutout. It was Brador's 12th of the season.
Alabama-Huntsville out shot UWA 20-8 with the shot on goal margin being 7-5 in favor of the visitors.
This is just the second loss to UAH in program history with the first coming Oct. 28, 2016. The Tigers are 8-2-2 all-time against the Chargers.
West Alabama will have to wait to find out its postseason hopes until the end of the weekend.
