Tigers Dominant in Sweep of Montevallo

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– The West Alabama Tigers came out fired up and rose to the occasion to knock off the previous top team in the standings Montevallo Falcons in dominant fashion with a 3-0 sweep Friday night in Pruitt Hall in Gulf South Conference Volleyball action.

"How we preformed tonight was something special. As a coach you can't ask for more," said Head coach Alexis Meeks. "We had high energy, great communication, we were scrappy on defense and our offense was firing on all cylinders. I truly know that if we preform like that we can compete with just about anyone. I am so proud of our program tonight and am ready to attack another opportunity tomorrow."

West Alabama improves to 14-5 overall and 7-2 in the GSC. Montevallo falls to 15-3 and 6-2 in the conference.

UWA won the first set 25-10, the second set 25-17 and third set 25-8.
