HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Aryn Sanders coaxed in the game-winner at the final buzzer to hand Alabama Huntsville a 64-62 Gulf South Conference women's basketball win over West Alabama Monday at Spragins Hall.
The Charger victory snapped a four-game losing streak and lifted UAH to 12-11 overall, 6-10 in GSC play. West Alabama had its winning streak snapped at four games, dropping to 11-11 and 8-7.

Kierra Groce's layup with 5.8 seconds left tied the score at 62-62 before Sanders' game-winner.
West Alabama shot just 32 percent (20-for-66) from the floor and 62 percent (18-29) from the free throw line, while Alabama Huntsville converted 42 percent (22-of-52) from the field and 75 percent (15-of-20) from the line. Three of UAH's five missed free throws came in the final 18 seconds of the game.
West Alabama won the rebounding battle, 46-37, but each team scored 32 points in the paint.
UAH limited West Alabama to just 20 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 35-27 lead into the intermission.
Chandler Elder led all scorers with 18 points for UAH. She also had eight rebounds. Johnson and Sanders chipped in 14 and 12, respectively.
Groce scored 13 points and had eight rebounds for West Alabama.
Sydney Bozeman recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bozeman now has four games with double-digit rebounds.
West Alabama is host to Delta State (9-12, 7-8) Thursday at Pruitt Hall Gym. Tipoff is 5:30 p.m. UAH travels to North Alabama on Saturday.
