The West Alabama Men's Soccer team started off the 2018 season with a win against Francis Marion University in Morrow, Georgia, defeating the Patriots 2-1 using a late goal to clinch the win.

The Tigers scored first with a goal from last season All-American Ali Brador off an assist from redshirt Kyle McLeod in the 26th minute of the game.

Francis Marion tied the game at one with a penalty kick goal by Sidney Warden in the 31st minute.

UWA took the lead and secured the win with a late goal from Harrison Roberts in the 82nd minute.

West Alabama recorded ten shots total, three on goal while Francis Marion collected 16 shots with eight on goal. Francis Marion recorded 11-16 shots in the second half but the late UWA goal and a solid performance from Tiger goalkeeper Ollie Harrison aided in the season-opening victory.
