Brador’s Golden Goal Lifts Tigers over Union

JACKSON, Tenn.Ali Brador scored two goals in tonight's Gulf South Conference Men's Soccer match between the West Alabama Tigers and the Union Bulldogs, but the second one was the golden goal needed to give UWA a 2-1 overtime win Friday night.

UWA improves 4-1-1 overall and 2-1 in the GSC. Union now sits at 0-5-1 and 0-3 in the conference.

"Most importantly we got the win tonight. It wasn't pretty, but the lads dug deep and came up with the win," said Head coach Matthew Thorne. "Any win away from home in the GSC is great for the team. Now we recover and focus on a tough match at CBU Sunday!"

Union scored first early at the 10:30 mark when AJ Morgado put the Bulldogs on the board.

Brador, UWA's first All-American, evened the contest at the 21:58 mark off an assist from Adam Zayed. The goal was fifth of the season for the native of Ronchin, France.

Both teams went silent in the second half and finally at the 91:25 marks Brador scored his sixth of the year off an assist from Harrison Roberts to give the Tigers the 2-1 overtime victory.

Union outshot UWA 12-10, but the Tigers struck four shots on goal while the Bulldogs only had three.
