Tigers Surrender Lead in Loss to CBU

MEMPHIS, Tenn.– The University of West Alabama Volleyball team seemingly had the win wrapped after claiming the first two sets, but it was not to be as the Christian Brothers Lady Buccaneers rallied to claim the final three sets and take the five-set victory Friday night in Canale Arena in Gulf South Conference action.

The Tigers fall to 5-11 and 0-4 in the GSC. CBU moves to 3-14 on the season and 1-3 in the conference.

UWA won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-18, respectively. However, the Lady Bucs won the final three games 25-21, 25-15 and 15-10.

Four Tigers finished with kills in double figures led by 16 kills for Taylor Donato who added 11 digs for a double-double. Jessica Akiona got a double-double of her own with 13 kills and 10 digs. Bret Luther and Ally Craig both notched 10 kills. Grace Harris passed 44 assists.
