Tigers Come Up Short against Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. – The West Alabama Volleyball team battled tough against the Jackson State Tigers but fell in straight sets in the road contest Tuesday night in T.B. Ellis Gymnasium.
 
UWA falls to 5-13 on the season while JSU improves to 8-13 overall.
 
Jessica Akiona led with nine kills while usual kills lead Taylor Donato and the freshman Ally Craig both added six kills. Grace Harris added 17 assists.
 
Rebecca Johnson tallied 11 digs while Beatriz Giordan led with three solo blocks.
 
West Alabama returns to action Friday in Gulf South Conference action against West Georgia. Match time is set for 6 p.m. as the team celebrates "Greek Night" and encourages all members of Greek letter organizations on campus to attend the event with special music during breaks catered to them.
