Second Half Goal for Lee Sinks Tigers

CLEVELAND, Tenn. – In a battle of two teams fighting to qualify for the Gulf South Conference Men's Championship Tournament, the Lee Flames got the one goal needed in a tough battle with the University of West Alabama Men's Soccer team Friday night at the Lee Soccer Field to come away with a 1-0 win in GSC action.

UWA falls to 4-8-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the conference while moves to 8-4-3 on the season and 4-3-2 in league play.

Lee's Caden Carrao scored his second goal of the season off an assist from Eemeli Makela at the 53:43 mark in the second half which stood as the game winner in the 1-0 win for the Flames.

The matchup was just about as even as could be as Lee took six total shots and West Alabama took five. However, the Flames finished with three shots on goal compared to just one SOG for the Tigers.

Vince Stans took three shots and had the lone SOG for the Tigers.

Both teams committed double-digit fouls as well with the UWA called for 12 infractions and Lee called for 10.
