GSC Home Opener vs. AUM Begins Eight-Game Homestand

The Series
The three-game series that begins with Friday's doubleheader is the Gulf South Conference opener for both West Alabama and Auburn-Montgomery
 
Where
All three game are scheduled for Tartt Field on the UWA campus in Livingston, Alabama.
 
What Time
Weather permitting, Friday's doubleheader begins at 2 p.m. and Saturday's single game at 1 p.m.

West Alabama
West Alabama is 4-2 after winning back-to-back three-game road series at Columbus State and Georgia Southwestern.
 
Auburn-Montgomery
Auburn-Montgomery is 5-3 after defeating Tuskegee, 14-2, Tuesday at home.
 
Last Meeting
JT Salter went the distance in game two, striking out 10 in a 2-1 victory, to help West Alabama salvage a doubleheader split March 10, 2018 at Auburn-Montgomery. AUM won the first game of the DH, 11-1. West Alabama's win kept the Tigers from being swept in the three-game series at the AUM Baseball Complex.
 
Respect Your Elders
After two starts, Tiger right-hander Tanner Elders is 2-0 with a 0.66 earned run average with wins on the road against Columbus State and Georgia Southwestern. In a team-leading 13.2 innings pitched, the junior from Hickory, Mississippi has struck out 10 and walked two. Opponents are hitting .269 against him.
 
Scoring First
Three of West Alabama's four wins have come after the Tigers scored first in the game. The Tigers have also won both games where they have pushed across a run in the first at bat.
 
Taylor "Clutch" Clemmons
UWA first baseman Taylor Clemmons has proven to be a clutch hitter in the early going. In six games, the junior from Tuscaloosa, Alabama is 2-for-2 (1.000) with the bases loaded, 4-for-6 (.667) with runners in scoring position, 4-for-11 (364) with two outs.
