UWA and UAH Set for GSC Tournament Semifinals

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– The West Alabama Men's Basketball team continues its march through its historic season Saturday, March 9 as UWA is set to take on the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers at 7:15 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University for the semifinals in the 2019 VisitSpaceCoast.com GSC Men's Basketball Championship.

The Tigers (22-6) are the two-seed in the GSC Tournament and are the GSC co-regular season champions. Meanwhile, UAH enters as the third seed and boasts a record of 23-6.

UWA claimed a victory in both regular season meetings with a 65-64 win on Jan. 17 thanks to a late layup by LaJuan Hardy and then an overtime victory 80-76 in Pruitt Hall Gym on Feb. 7.

Alongside GSC Tournament implications, this game could go a long way to determining postseason hopes for both teams as West Alabama is fifth in the latest NCAA South Regional rankings and UAH is seventh.
