UWA Drops Match in Straight Sets to Argos

PENSACOLA, Fla.– The University of West Alabama Volleyball fell in straight sets Saturday afternoon to the West Florida Argonauts in the UWF Field House in Gulf South Conference action.

The Tigers fall to 5-10 overall and 0-3 in the GSC. UWF improves to 10-5 and 3-0 in the conference.

The Argos won the first set 25-18, the second 25-22 and the final game 25-16.

"Ally Craig stepped up and played well today, and Grace Harris has distributed the ball much better throughout the past two matches," said Head coach Hilary Lobenstein. "More attackers will need to get involved as we move forward. We have a few practices this week to work harder and make some changes."

Taylor Donato led the Tigers with 14 kills and Craig posted eight. Harris finished with 31 assists.

Rebecca Johnson led the defense 17 digs. Both Bret Luther and Craig added four block assists.

The road shoe continues for West Alabama as travels to Memphis, Tennessee to take on the Christian Brothers Lady Bucs on October 4. Game time is set for 3 p.m. and game links will be available on uwaathletics.com.
