Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

UWA Home Opener Spoiled by #5 Lander

LIVINGSTON, Ala.– The first home match for the University of Men's Soccer team didn't go the way the Tigers would have liked as the #5 Lander Bearcats grabbed a 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon in Tiger Stadium.

Lander (2-0) got two goals from Max Bolton, one at the 15:50 mark and the other at 59:23 mark, and other from Max McNulty with 47:17 on the clock to come away with the victory. Jed Smith assistant on the first Bolton goal as well as on McNulty's goal while Robbie Young assisted on the second Bolton goal.

The Bearcats showed why coaches around country have the squad ranked as high as they are as the visitors limited UWA to four shots while taking 12 of their own.

Kiaran Maule and Kyle McLeod both had a shot on goal to lead the Tigers.

West Alabama will look to regroup with a weekend on the road starting with a September 13 matchup against Eckerd College starting at 6 p.m. CDT. Game links will be available on uwaathletics.com.
