UWA (20-7, 13-6) has a home game locked up for the first round of the GSC Championship Tournament, but the Tigers have an opportunity to finish as high as the three seed with a win and a loss by Alabama Huntsville in either of the team's final two games. MC (8-17, 4-15) is already eliminated from postseason contention and is looking for the road upset.

The Tigers, ranked sixth in the most recent NCAA South Region poll, need this win to solidify their spot in the rankings and to avenge an earlier loss to the Choctaws. UWA fell 69-66 in overtime on the road to Mississippi College back on Nov. 23 to open GSC play.

Darron Johnson finished with 21 points to lead all scorers while Ricky Dunnaway had 16 and LaJuan Hardy scored 14 points in the loss. Mike Davis brought down nine rebounds. MC converted 16 UWA turnovers into 19 points.

Stefan Bozickovic led the Choctaws with 15 points. Winfred Ross had 14 while Jacob Taylor and Winceton Edwards both scored 10 points.

Hardy is the offensive leader for West Alabama with averages of 14.6 points and 5.3 assists. Hardy's 142 total assists leads the conference. Dunnaway is at 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. Johnson us averaging 12.5 points while Davis is the leading rebounder at 7.4 boards a night while scoring 9.3 points.

MC is led by Edwards who averages 13.6 points per game. Ross is scoring 11.4 points and rebounding 7.2 bouards per game. Zach Jones has the higher rebounding average at 7.3 a night. Ken Lewis leads with 3.1 assists per game.

With Saturday's contest being senior day, between the women's and men's games the teams will celebrate the senior members for UWA squads. Being honored from the men's team are aforementioned Davis, Dunnaway, Hardy and Johnson alongside Chris Dudley, Tyrus Grayson, Deandre Harper and Rene Scott.
