St. Edwards Slips by Tigers, 4-3

MIDLOTHIAN, Texas – St. Edwards (Texas) slipped by West Alabama, 4-3, in a battle of two top 20 NCAA Division II men's tennis teams Saturday at the Midlothian High School Courts.

Ranked 13^th, St. Edwards improved to 4-0 and 16^th ranked West Alabama dropped to 2-1.

St. Edwards wrapped up the doubles point with victories on Courts 2 and 3 and then clinched the match with singles wins at No. 5, 6 and 1. West Alabama's singles wins came from Patricio Nieto Corral, Ilari Vesanen and Ilia Dehodiuk.

The Tigers finish their three-match swing to Texas with a match against Ouachita Baptist at 9 a.m. Sunday. The Tigers are home Thursday against UT-Tyler at 2 p.m.
