Tiger Men’s Soccer Team of the Decade

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Eleven players compose the University of West Alabama Men's Soccer Team of the Decade for the years 2010-19. With the exception of goalkeeper, the team was selected without regard to position. With 2012 being the first year of the program, this is a collection of the team's top players in its eight-year history.
 
The UWA Men's Soccer Team of the Decade includes players that helped the program make an immediate impact in the Gulf South Conference, including four consecutive GSC Championships from 2014-2017. Included are two All-American selections, seven All-Region selections and 10 All-GSC honorees.
 
Jean Baptiste-Meyniel (2015-17) – All-Region and All-GSC midfielder … GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-Tournament team …Ninth in career starts in program history (50) and tied for 10th in total games played (57) … Tied for fifth in assists (9), sixth in game winning goals (4) and sixth in shots (91)  … Scored 11 career goals.
 
Evan Beutler (2012-14) – All-Region and All-GSC midfielder … Academic All-American … Second in program history in game winning goals (7) and seventh all-time in shots (86) … Scored 13 goals and passed nine assists for a total of 35 career points … Posted 32 shots on goal.
 
Ali Brador (2017-18) – All-American, All-Region, and All-GSC Forward … GSC All-Academic Team … Second all-time in goals (25), leader in game winning goals (8), third in shots (108) and tied for fourth in shots on goal (49) … Added five career assists to finish third all-time with 55 points … Tallied second hat trick in program history in an NCAA Tournament game against Tampa on Nov. 12, 2017.
 
Alex Brown (2012-15) – All-Region and All-GSC defender … Scored 14 career goals with 19 shots on goal and 4-for-4 in penalty kicks … Fourth in UWA history in games played (73), third in games started (71), tied for fourth in games winning goals (5).
 
Thibault Charmey (2012-14) – All-American, All-Region, and All-GSC midfielder … Two-time GSC Player of the Year … GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player … Program leader in points (74), goals (29), shots (135), shots on goal (75), penalty kicks (6), penalty kick attempts (8) and tied for lead with 16 assists … Put up first hat trick in program history on Sept. 28, 2015 against Mississippi College … Finished UWA career with five game winning goals.
 
Vitor Gazza (2012-14) – A forward, he finished fourth all-time in goals (18), fourth in points (51), third in assists (15) and fourth in shots on goal (49) … Totaled 67 shots and 41 shots on goal … GSC All-Tournament Team three consecutive seasons.
 
Clay Green (2012-16) – All-GSC forward … GSC All-Tournament Team … Tied for second in games played (74) and sixth in games started (58) … Second in points (57), shots (124), shots on goal (65), penalty kicks attempts (3) and penalty kicks (2); third in goals (24) and game winning goals and tied for fifth in assists (9) on UWA career lists.
 
Brad Louis (2014-17) – All-GSC goalkeeper  … GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-Tournament Team … GSC Top Ten … GSC All-Academic Team … Eighth-most starts in program history (51) and tied for 10th in most starts (57) … Posted most wins as keeper with 27-17-4 record in goal, saves (195) and shutouts (11) … Saved 1.02 shots per game with a .777 save percentage. 
 
Ashley Phillips (2013-16) – All-Region and All-GSC defender … GSC All-Tournament Team … Fifth in all-time in starts (62) and sixth in all-time in games played (69) … Totaled nine career points with three goals and three assists … Took 34 shots with 15 on goal for a .441 shot percentage.
 
Harrison Roberts (2015-18) – All-GSC midfielder … GSC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and All-Tournament Team … All-time leader in games played (75) and games started (74) … Tied for first in assists (16), third in shots on goal (55), third in penalty kicks (2) and fourth in shots (99) on Tiger career totals … Only player with three assists in a game, which came in NCAA Tournament matchup against Tampa on Nov. 12, 2017.
 
Jack Shiels (2016-17) – All-Region and All-GSC defender … GSC All-Tournament Team … Key defender in 11 shutouts during career … Five points in UWA tenure with two goals and one assist … Posted 13 shots on goal with a .542 SOG percentage … Lone game winning goal came in second overtime period over Mississippi College on Oct. 17, 2017.
