Tickets for the first game can be reserved here. The wearing of masks and social distancing is required. Doors will open one hour before tipoff and fans allowed in the gym will sit only in the bleachers on the opposite side of the court from the team benches.

WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are 3-1 on the season and in the Gulf South Conference after splitting a pair of road contests at Union. UWA lost the Friday night matchup, 58-61, before bouncing back to win the Saturday afternoon game, 73-67. The two games capped a phrenetic start to the season where West Alabama played four games in five days. The week started with a sweep of Mississippi College at home.
 
UNION
The Bulldogs are 6-4 overall and in the GSC after splitting a pair of games last weekend with Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. Union won the first game 75-61, but the second game went MC's way by the score of 73-67. Union never led in the second game as the Choctaws connected on seven of 11 threes in the first half to gain a huge lead early.
 
GSC WEST DIVISION CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK…
Shardarrion Allen was named GSC Co-Player of the Week two weeks ago after the Tigers opened the season with four games in five days. He shared the honor with UAH's Sam Orf. Allen scored in double digits in all four games last week for the team against Mississippi College and Union. Orf scored 27 points in a win over Delta State.
 
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
UWA and Union are two of the better defensive teams in the GSC. The Tigers are first in defense and only allow 60.3 points per game while Union only allows 69.0 points which is fourth in the conference. West Alabama's defense doesn't just lead the league, but it is also the third best scoring defense in all of NCAA Division II.
 
GSC WEST DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK…
Union's Justin Debuck was named GSC West Division Freshman of the Week last week which was the third time this season. Debuck averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and a steal for the week as the Bulldogs split a series with Mississippi College.
 
IN THE POLLS
West Alabama is ranked fourth in the latest D2SIDA South Region rankings. Right behind the Tigers sit Union at fifth. 
 
UP NEXT
West Alabama will spend another weekend in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium as the University of Alabama in Huntsville Chargers make the trip to Livingston, Alabama for GSC West Division action. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on Feb. 5 and 2 p.m. on Feb. 6. Links to live video and live stats will be available on uwaathletics.com.
