Cruz Named Jack’s Player of the Week

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's soccer member Dana Cruz has been named Jack's Player of the Week based on her performance in the Tigers two-match weekend series against Christian Brothers on October 8 and Union on October 10.

The Fort Walton Beach, Florida native helped UWA defeat CBU 1-0 and Union 1-0 to improve its overall record to 6-2-1 and 4-1-0 in GSC play.

In the matchup between UWA and CBU, Cruz took two shots and scored the only goal for the Tigers in the first nine seconds of the match. 

In the match against Union, Cruz took three shots, two being on target. She scored in the 75th minute of the match to give West Alabama the 1-0 lead.

Cruz leads the Tigers' offense with five goals and one assist for 11 points, ranking her fifth in the GSC for goals scored per game. She's taken 15 shots, 10 being on target, and has had three game-winners for UWA.
