Tigers Rout Southeastern Baptist 97-51

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Four West Alabama players scored in double figures and the Tigers shot 67 percent from the field as UWA demolished Southeastern Bible College, 97-51, Thursday at Pruitt Hall Gym.

West Alabama improved to 4-5 with the win, snapping a four-game losing skid. The last time UWA lost four straight was during the 2016-17 season. Southeast Bible College dropped to 1-17.

Shardarrion Allen led the Tigers with 20 points, converting 10-of-12 from the floor. Roger Davis contributed 17. Kortrijk Miles chipped in 15 and Robert Davis added 12. Allen and Miles had six rebounds each to lead the Tigers, who made 9-of-16 three-pointers (56 percent). Justin Allison, Robert Davis and Roger Davis all dished out five assists.

"Things change when you can make shots," UWA head coach Nick Woodruff said. "Seeing the ball go through the net was a big thing for our guys. I am proud of how we listened to coaching and eliminated some bad shots.

"We had 25 assists so we passed it better, but I'm prouder of how we pulled for our teammates," Woodruff said. "The basketball has energy and it picks a team up when a lot of people touch it and when a lot of people are getting shots."

West Alabama never trailed in the game and led by as many as 49 points late in the second half. The Tigers outscored the Chargers 52-24 in the paint and turned 19 SEB turnovers into 35 points.

All nine players who dressed for UWA scored in the game as the Tigers added a 14-for-18 night from the free throw line to an excellent shooting night from the floor.

O Mears was the only Charger to score in double figures, finishing with 17 points on a 7-for-14 shooting night. Five different Chargers had three rebounds.

West Alabama begins a four-game road swing Tuesday at Delta State (3-6).
