UWA Prepares for Visit from Chargers

ADMISSION
Tickets for the games can be reserved here. The wearing of masks and social distancing is required. Doors will open one hour before tipoff and fans allowed in the gym will sit only in the bleachers on the opposite side of the court from the team benches.

WEST ALABAMA
The Tigers are 3-3 on the season and in the Gulf South Conference after losing a pair of home games to Union. UWA lost last Friday night 59-55 and dropped the Saturday contest 66-54 all in Livingston, Alabama.

ALABAMA HUNTSVILLE
The Chargers are 6-1 overall and 6-0 in the GSC. UAH hasn't played in two weeks, but the last time the team played Alabama Huntsville defeated Delta State 61-53 on Jan. 15 and then narrowly beat the Statesmen the following day, 69-68 with both games taking place in Cleveland, Mississippi.

ROUND 1
This is the first match up between the two squads. The first series of games was supposed to take place in Huntsville, Alabama on Jan. 22 and Jan. 23 but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

UNSTOPPABLE FORCE VS. IMMOVABLE OBJECT
This is a rivalry that has caught fire over the last few years. In their last 10 meetings, UWA and UAH are 5-5 against each other. This includes a four-game winning streak for the Tigers from 2017-2019. West Alabama won the last meeting 75-54 in Spragins Hall.

IN THE POLLS
UAH comes in ranked #11 in the NABC Division II Top 25 poll, #6 in the D2SIDA National Poll and #1 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll after receiving all first-place votes. The Chargers have won six straight games.

West Alabama hits the road after two weeks at home for a scheduled mid-week series against Delta State in Cleveland, Mississippi with the first game on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. and the second the following day at 2:30 p.m. Links to live video and live stats will be available on uwaathletics.com.
