Tigers Strong in Second Half, Fall Short on Road to UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Three Tigers reached double figures as the University of West Alabama Women's basketball team battled back in a gusty second half but fell short of comeback victory in a 68-59 loss to the University of Alabama in Huntsville Lady Chargers in Spragins Hall in Gulf South Conference West Division action Friday night.

The loss dropped UWA's record to 6-5 overall and 5-5 in the GSC West while UAH improved to 6-4 on the season and 5-3 in the league's West Division.

"We came out flat the first half and UAH jumped on us. We couldn't find the basket and couldn't get anything to go our way," said Head coach Rusty Cram.  "We showed some fight and character the second half. I'm proud of them for not quitting. We just dug too big of a hole for ourselves. We will line up tomorrow and hope for better results."

In that second half, the Tigers outscored Alabama Huntsville, 42-30 including a third quarter where UWA scored 17 points and held the Lady Chargers to just nine points from the floor.
