UWA Host Spring Hill in Midweek Game

SERIES
This is the 14th game in the series between the two intrastate rivals. West Alabama leads the series, 10-3. Two of Spring Hill's three wins in the series have come at Tartt Field. 
 
RECORDS
West Alabama is 6-3. Spring Hill is 3-2 with all five game coming against the University of Mobile.
 
STREAKING
After an 0-3 start West Alabama has rallied to win six straight games, three over Mississippi College and three over Christian Brothers.
 
AT TARTT
West Alabama is 6-0 at the friendly confines of Tartt Field this season.
 
CLOSING THE HOMESTAND
Wednesday's game closes a seven-game homestand for West Alabama. After a three-game set at Delta State this weekend the Tigers return to Tartt Field to host Shorter in a three-game series starting March 12.
 
NEMO AND GAVIN
Tiger shortstop and leadoff hitter Jake Nemith leads UWA hitters who meet the minimum of two plate appearances per game and have played in 75 percent of the games with a .429 batting average. RHP/DH/3B Gavin Rogers is hitting .360 with a team-leading two home runs and 12 runs batted in.
 
SHUTDOWN INNINGS
Four Tiger pitchers combined to shut out Christian Brothers over 17 innings in a doubleheader win over Christian Brothers last weekend, dropping the team ERA to 4.34.

A cloudy morning will give way to mainly sunny skies for the afternoon. A high of 62 is expected with winds NNW at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Admission is free for Tiger baseball in 2021. COVID precautions has attendance limited to 300 mask wearing and socially distanced baseball fans.
