West Alabama
West Alabama is 9-10 overall, 7-9 in conference play. The Tigers are 3-6 on the road, all GSC games. 
 
Montevallo
Montevallo is 9-12 overall and 6-12 in GSC play. The Falcons are 6-6 at home, 3-6 in GSC home games and are on a three-game losing streak.
 
Last Meeting
Montevallo turned 14 hits, 13 of them singles, into 14 runs in a 14-5 victory over West Alabama on March 11, 2019 at Tartt Field in Livingston.
 
UWA Coach Gary Rundles
Gary Rundles is 638-406 in his 21st year at West Alabama, 1,010-683 in his 33rd year as a college head coach. Rundles has averaged 30.3 wins per season over his UWA career, 30.6 over his 33-year career.
 
UM Coach Chandler Rose
Chandler Rose is 265-237 in his 11th season as a collegiate head coach, all at Montevallo. 
 
Former Falcon
West Alabama outfielder JD Roberts played his freshman year at Montevallo, appearing in 23 games and starting two. He batted .308 in limited action with a double, two runs batted in and two stolen bases. In his third season at West Alabama, Roberts is a .257 career hitters in 66 games, 54 starts. He has six doubles, a triple, 13 stolen bases and 19 RBI. 
 
Bob Riesener
The man for whom the University of Montevallo baseball stadium is named is also a former head baseball coach at UWA (then Livingston University) and is a member of the UWA Athletics Hall of Fame. Riesener was at the helm of the Tigers baseball program from 1967 to 1971, compiling a 111-34 record and appearing in post season action all four seasons. He is an inductee into the NAIA Baseball Hall of Fame and University of Montevallo Athletic Hall of Fame.
 
In the GSC Standings
West Alabama (7-9) is currently eighth in the GSC standings. Montevallo (6-12) is 11th. The top eight, based on winning percentage, will play in the conference tournament.
 
GSC Statistical Rankings
West Alabama is eighth in the league in hitting with a .266 team batting average, while Montevallo is 12th at .248. The Falcons, however, are second in the league with a 3.55 team earned run average. UWA's 5.69 ERA is ninth in the league. The Falcons are 10th in the league with a .951 fielding percentage and the Tigers are 12th in fielding at .949.
 
Road Warriors
The three-game series at Montevallo is a part of a 10-game road swing for West Alabama. The Tigers played three at West Georgia two weekends ago, go to VSU for three next weekend and close it out with a single game against Spring Hill at Hank Aaron Stadium on April 14.
