Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tampa Grabs 4-0 Victory over Tigers

MORROW, Ga. - It was not the night West Alabama men's soccer team had hoped for after taking a 4-0 defeat from the University of Tampa Friday evening in Morrow, Georgia.

"Congratulations to Tampa on a fully deserved win," UWA head coach Ross Nelson said. They simply wanted it more than us. They fought for the result, and we did not. We lost our individual battle and that ultimately lost us the game."

UWA fell to 1-2 overall, while the Spartans improved to 2-1.

Tampa grabbed two back-to-back goals in the first half of the match and added another late goal right before halftime to grab a 3-0 lead over the Tigers.

The Spartans closed out the game with one more goal at the 86:56 mark to bring the final score to 4-0.

Tampa out shot UWA, 16-11, with the shot on goal margin being 6-4 in favor of the Spartans.
