UWA improved its overall record to 3-2 and 1-0 in GSC play. SHC dropped to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

"It is a great feeling to open GSC play with a win and another clean sheet, especially against a strong side in Spring Hill," UWA head coach Ross Nelson said. "The lads battled from start to finish, and I can't fault any of their effort tonight."

The Tigers jumped to a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute of the match when Richard Lopez scored the first goal of the night off an assist from Reda Ikarrain.

UWA pounced on and improved the lead to 2-0 when Vince Stans found the back of the net off a header.

Neither team scored in the second half of the match. UWA held Spring Hill's offense and closed out the game with a 2-0 victory in the match.

The Tigers' goalie Jules Dechert kept the clean sheet in the 90 minutes of action. He recorded four saves as he faced eight shots. Spring Hill's keeper Alessandro Erdelyi had two saves as he faced five shots in the match.
