LIVINGSTON, Ala. – After a rough 0-7 start to the season, the West Alabama Volleyball team will continue its pursuit of a victory on Friday night when it plays Alabama – Huntsville at 6 p.m. CT inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

The match will be live-streamed onto the UWA Athletics YouTube page, and live stats can be followed on the UWA Athletics official website.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. CT. Fans are reminded that there is an indoor mask policy on campus at UWA, regardless of vaccination status. All fans in attendance are asked to wear a mask unless actively eating or drinking.

The Tigers are 0-7 on the season and hope to pick up their first win against the Chargers. UWA is coming off a 3-1 loss to Mississippi College after opening conference play at home Tuesday night. Desiree Blount set a new season-high with 32 assists, and Nathalia Medeiros led the West Alabama offense with 11 kills and a .250 hitting percentage.

In the spring of 2021, UWA visited Huntsville in the final week of the abbreviated season, falling to the Chargers in three sets. In 2019, the Tigers and the Chargers met in the fall, with UAH winning the match 3-2. Alabama – Huntsville leads the all-time series, 36-17.

UAH is 6-4 on the season, lead by second-year head coach Jon Mosley. Molly Presnell leads the offensive charge for the Chargers with 2.32 kills per set. This is Alabama-Huntsville's first conference match of the season.
