Men's Basketball Returns to Pruitt Hall on Thursday and Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama men's basketball looks to keep its home winning streak alive as they face the Bulldogs of Union on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.
 
Thursday's game will feature the top two teams in the GSC standings. Union is 15-4 overall and has a 9-2 record in conference play and sits in first place in the standings. West Alabama is 15-3 overall and has an 8-2 record in GSC play which is good for second place in the standings.
 
West Alabama made its debut in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Poll this past week. The Tigers are ranked No. 25 and Union is among others receiving votes. 
 
The Tigers are led by three-time GSC Player of the Week Kortrijk Miles who averages 20.1 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. He leads the GSC in both categories. 
 
Shardarrion Allen, the native of Bolton, Miss., averages 12.5 points per game and 6 rebounds per game. Robert Davis averages 10.3 points per game along with 1.5 assists per game. 
 
Junior guard Justin Allison leads the Tigers with 3.9 assists per game and he averages 8.8 points per game. 
 
As a team, the Tigers have held its opponents to only 57.8 points per game which is first in the NCAA. Union averages 78.9 points per game and in its last game, scored 112 points in a win against Alabama-Huntsville. 
 
Union's offense is led by Tyree Boykin, the senior guard averages 19.6 points per game which is second in the conference. 
 
The Tigers will be hosting Lee University on Saturday, January 29 at 4:00 p.m. Lee will bring its 10-5 overall record and its 6-3 GSC record into the game. Lee sits in fourth place in the GSC standings. 
 
Quay Kennedy leads the Flames scoring 13.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. 
 
There will be no admission charge for both games. Fans are encouraged to social distance and wear a mask. 
 
Live stream and live stats are available for both games. Both games will also be broadcasted on SLY104.9 with play-by-play from Mark Gilliam.
