Men's Basketball Travels to Lee

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama men's basketball team looks to continue its six-game winning streak as it travels to Cleveland, Tenn. to face conference foe Lee University. The Tigers enter Saturday's competition 12-2 overall and 5-1 in the GSC as they meet the 8-5 and 4-3 Flames.

UWA is in its second season under the direction of head coach Nick Woodruff. The team is currently experiencing its best start in program history after surpassing the previous best of 9-2, tying at No. 3 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll and landing at second in the GSC standings.

West Alabama is led offensively by 3-time GSC Player of the Week Kortrijk Miles. The junior guard leads the team and the conference to average 19.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. He had a career game during the Tigers last outing against Valdosta State, tying his career-high of 30 points while having a career-high of 19 rebounds.

Previous GSC Player of the Week Shardarrion Allen is the only other player averaging double-digit scoring with 12.9 points per game. He also leads the team in blocks with 0.6 per game and steals with 1.6 per game.

The Flames are in their sixth season with head coach Bubba Smith. Smith currently holds an 87-61 record at Lee and a 279-216 coaching record over 19 seasons.

LU is led by Quay Kennedy and Jayce Willingham, who average 13.3 and 13.2 points, respectively. Kennedy also leads the team in rebounds with 5.1 boards per game.
