FAIRBURN, Ga. - West Alabama men's cross country team finished fourth at the Asics Invitational Saturday afternoon at Bouckaert Farms.
Audrick Pyronneau led the way for UWA and placed 20th out of 129 runners. Pyronneau ran a time of 26:05.15 in the 8K.
Seth Lord was UWA's next-best finisher, placing 30th and stopping the clock at 26:45.60.
Matthew Brown ranked 37th,
Jayson Lynch ranked 42nd, followed by
Shadrack Bett placing 44th,
Gary Mata ranked 90th, Dave Hubert placed 111th.
UWA Men's Individual's 8K Results
There were 129 runners in the men's event with a total of 13 teams. Georgia Tech won the meet with seven runners finishing in the top-ten. Emory was second, followed by Carson-Newman in third, UWA in fourth, and Piedmont rounding out the top-five.
The UWA women' cross country team had four runners compete in the 5K race. Faith Jepchirchir was the first Tiger to come across the line with a time of 19:31.91, ranking 25th.
Haina Franco placed 62nd,
Kirsten Eason finished 82nd, and
Kayley Key finished 92nd.
UWA Women's Individual's 5K Results
There were 106 runners in the women's 5K race. Georgia Tech also won the race on the women's side. Wofford was second, followed by Carson-Newman in third, Emory in fourth, and Oxford College rounding out the top-five in the 12-team field.
Next up for the Tigers, both men's and women's cross country teams will head Milledgeville, Georgia to compete in the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College.
