The Tigers Fall Short in GSC Matchup Against Shorter

ROME, Ga. - West Alabama volleyball team took a 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 26-24) defeat from Shorter in a Gulf South Conference match Friday evening inside Winthrop-King Centre.
 
The Tigers are now 6-19 overall and are 1-9 in the GSC. The Hawks improved to 13-13 overall and are now 6-4 in the conference.
 
Ally Craig led UWA attackers with seven kills and three aces. Nathalia Medeiros added six kills. Maddie Van Dyke dished out 17 assists. Mackenzie Wells had six digs in the match. 
 
The Hawks took set one, 25- 15, and claimed set two, 25-13. The Tigers fought until the end in set three but came up short 26-24.  
 
The Tigers held the edge in kills (31-18), assists (28-17), and blocks (9-3). UWA held the advantage in aces (10-6).
 
Carrington Terrell paced the Hawks with six kills. Lacee Glover tallied 11 digs. 
 
The Tigers return to action on Sunday as they take on Shorter in a GSC matchup. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. in Paul Dana Walker Arena.
