UWA Volleyball Drops GSC Road Match to #13 UWF

PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Alabama volleyball dropped a Gulf South Conference match to No. 13 West Florida Saturday afternoon at UWF Field House. The Argos cruised by the Tigers 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-6).
 
The Tigers dropped to 6-23 overall and are 1-5 in GSC play. The Argos improved to 24-5 overall and are now 14-1 in the conference. 
 
Ally Craig led UWA attackers with five kills. Madison Fisher, Amelia Johnigan, and Nathalia Medeiros added three kills. Kenyatta Thomas had two slams. Maddie Van Dyke dished out 14 assists and had one service ace. MacKenzie Wells led the defense with five digs. 
 
UWF had the advantage over UWA in kills (46-16), digs (32-17), aces (7-1), blocks (6-0), and assists (42-14). 
 
Camilla Vazquez had 12 kills in the matchup. Taylor Vaneekeren had 34 assists. Three Argos had three service aces. Jenna Dufresne had nine digs. 
 
The Tigers close out the season with two home games next week. UWA battles Montevallo on Thursday. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Pruitt Hall Gymnasium. Senior night will be on Friday against Alabama Huntsville, with a start time of 6 p.m.
