Tigers Cruise by Southeastern Baptist College 68-26

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama women's basketball team cruised by Southeastern Baptist College 68-26 in a non-conference matchup Wednesday evening inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium. The Tigers moved to 8-3 overall.
 
Takesia Barnes and Allison Wallace posted double figures for the Tigers. Barnes posted 13 points, knocking down three three-pointers. She also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists. Wallace dropped 11 points, also draining three three-pointers. 
 
Bria Dent scored eight points and had four rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon posted seven points, while Zoe Watts added six points and five rebounds. 
 
Kiona McCallister, Raneem Elbarky, Jala Williams, Augusta Arnold, and Kamille Clark each had four points. Sydney Schwallie dished out seven assists in the matchup and scored two points. Ella Noble knocked in a free throw to round out the Tigers' scoring. 
 
As a squad, UWA shot 545.3 percent (25-of-46) from the floor, 43.8 percent (7-of-16) from beyond the arc, and 84.6 percent (11-of-13) from the free throw line. 
 
At halftime, the Tigers held a 45-16 lead over the Lady Chargers. UWA combined for 23 total points in the third and fourth quarters to claim the 68-26 win over Southeastern Baptist College.
 
Charity Walley scored nine points for the Chargers, and Kassidy Ulmer posted seven points in the matchup.
 
The Tigers limited the Chargers to shooting 22.2 percent (10-of-45) from the field, 22.2 percent (2-of-9) from the three-point range, and 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from the foul line. 
 
The Tigers outrebounded the Lady Chargers 42-18. UWA turned SBC's 16 turnovers into 20 points. The Tigers dominated in bench points, 41-7, and won in points in the paint, 26-16.
 
The Tigers host West Georgia in a GSC matchup on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.
