Men's Basketball Faces West Georgia in GSC Matchup

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball team faces West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference matchup on Sunday at 4 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

The Tigers enter the game with a 9-2 overall record and are 5-2 in GSC play. The Wolves bring a 6-2 record to Livingston and are 6-1 in the conference. This is the 25th matchup between UWA and UWG. The series is tied at 12-12.

Terry Durham leads the Tigers' offense with 14.6 points per game, shooting 58.4 percent from the field. He also averages nine rebounds per contest. Durham ranks third in the GSC in field goal percentage and rebounds and 11th in scoring. He also leads UWA with 14 steals, ranking him 15th in the conference.

Shardarrion Allen averages 13.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.2 assists per game. Allen ranks 17th in the GSC in scoring, 18th in rebounds, and 22nd in assists.

Kuran Garner averages 11.7 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game. Garner ranks 25th in assists in the conference. Justin Allison averages 11.3 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. Allison also averages 2.5 assists per game, ranking him 15th in the GSC.

As a squad, UWA averages 76.3 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC and is ranked fourth nationally in scoring defense, holding its opponent to 57.6 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 18.6 points per game

The graduate student guard Michael Zabetakis leads the Wolves' offense with 19.6 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. He ranks third in the GSC in scoring. Sophomore guard Zawdie Jackson averages 12.3 points per game and 2.8 rebounds per game.
