Tigers Host Union on Saturday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama men's basketball team battles Union University on Saturday in Gulf South Conference action. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.

The Tigers enter the game with a 10-2 overall record and are 6-2 in GSC play. The Bulldogs bring an 8-4 record to Livingston and are 7-1 in the conference. This is the 24th matchup between West Alabama and Union. UWA leads the series 12-11.

Terry Durham leads the Tigers' offense with 14.5 points per game, shooting 57.3 percent from the field. He also averages 8.7 rebounds per contest. Durham ranks third in the GSC in rebounds, fourth in field goal percentage, and 13th in scoring. He also leads UWA with 15 steals, ranking him 18th in the conference.

Shardarrion Allen averages 13.7 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game. Allen ranks 18th in the GSC in scoring, 19th in rebounds, and 24th in assists. Kuran Garner averages 11.9 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, and two assists per game. Garner ranks 21st in the conference in steals with 14.

Justin Allison averages 11.8 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. Allison also averages 2.8 assists per game, ranking him 14th in the GSC. Allison ranks seventh in the GSC for free throw percentage and 17th in 3-point field goals per game. CJ Melton ranks 20th in the conference for rebounds and averages 5.3 per contest.

As a unit, UWA averages 76.2 points per game. The Tigers' defense leads the GSC and ranks fifth nationally in scoring defense, holding its opponent to 58.4 points per game. UWA's scoring margin is 17.8 points per game

The graduate student guard Tylandrius Parks leads the Bulldogs' offense with 20.5 points per game and eight rebounds per game. He leads the GSC in scoring.
