Dent Posted Seventh Double-Double, Lee Handed Tigers First GSC Loss

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Lee University handed West Alabama women's basketball team its first Gulf South Conference loss of the season, 66-57, Sunday afternoon inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium.
 
The Tigers dropped to 6-2 overall and are 4-1 in GSC play. The Flames improved to 6-2 overall and are 5-0 in the conference. 

Bria Dent posted her seventh double-double of the season. She had 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Dent also had three assists, two steals, and two blocks. Zoe Watts added 19 points, seven boards, and a block. 
 
Jala Williams posted eight points, seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Maryanne Logsdon had six points, four assists, and three rebounds. Kamille Clark added four points. 
 
UWA shot 42.6 percent (23-of-54) from the field and 71.4 percent (10-of-14) from the foul line.

The Tigers trailed 35-19 at halftime. UWA battled back and scored 21 points in the third quarter compared to Lee's 13 points. The Flames outscored the Tigers 18-17 in the fourth quarter to come away with the 66-57 win over West Alabama.  
 
Haley Schubert scored 21 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and four assists in the matchup. Anna Muhonen added 13 points and three rebounds. 
 
Lee shot 41.4 percent (24-of-58) from the floor, 35.7 percent (5-of-14) from beyond the arc, and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the free throw line. 
 
The Tigers take on Mississippi College in a GSC matchup on Friday. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. inside A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Mississippi.
