Baseball Hosts Mississippi College in Conference Weekend Series

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The West Alabama baseball team opens conference play this weekend to host Mississippi College in a three-game series at Tartt Field. The first game is Friday afternoon, with a doubleheader on Saturday.

The series opens on Friday, with the first pitch being moved up to 3 p.m. CT.  The doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 1 p.m. Stay tuned to UWAAthletics.com and UWA Athletics social media channels for potential changes to the schedule throughout the weekend.

The Tigers (1-9) are coming off their first season victory, defeating Miles College in midweek action. After entering the ninth inning ahead 15-5, a robust bottom frame almost derailed West Alabama's first win. UWA's defense held firm to defeat the Golden Bears 15-13 at Rickwood Field.

Mississippi College (2-6) is riding a three-game losing streak after dropping an early week game against Henderson College, 12-8, and only taking one game of a three-game series at Young Harris.

All three games will be streamed live on the UWA Athletic YouTube channel, and the radio call will be available only on Friday's game on SLY104.9.

Entrance into Tartt Field is free. Fans can also lease one of the three Campora Hospitality Suites for the best Tiger baseball experience. To reserve your suite, call (205) 652-3784. Payment for the use of the suites can be made by check or cash at the Athletic Department Offices in Foust Hall 5 or online at www.uwa.edu/suites.
