Tigers Fall Against Spring Hill

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Spring Hill's Micah Morgan hit two grand-slams during the game to help boost the Badgers to a 14-12 win against West Alabama at Tartt Field on Wednesday afternoon. 
 
West Alabama's record falls to 6-18 and Spring Hill's improves to 10-8. 
 
Morgan's first grand slam was in the second inning which gave the Badgers a six-run lead. The Tigers rallied to take a 7-6 lead however, in the fifth inning the Badgers scored five more runs including the second grand-slam from Morgan. 
 
The Tigers tried to rally again after Kyle Vogler hit a two-run shot over the left field wall and the Tigers brought it to a two-run game but could not plate any more runs. 
 
Devin Sisson (0-1) took the loss for UWA and was the third of six Tiger pitchers that gave up six hits, 14 runs, seven being earned runs, and struck out seven batters.
 
Colden Peeples, Gavin Rogers, Josh Bower, and Vogler all drove in two runs and collectively had 12 of the 15 Tiger hits. UWA left 10 runners on base. 
 
Colin Millar (2-3) got the win for the Badgers, pitching 1.1 innings and giving up four hits and two earned runs. The Badger pitching staff struck out seven Tiger batters.  
 
The Tigers return to Gulf South Conference play for a three-game series at Christian Brothers begining on Saturday.
