Tigers and Badgers to Meet in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. – The West Alabama and Spring Hill baseball teams are set to play each other on Wednesday for the second time in a week, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Historic Stan Galle Field on the campus of the Badgers. 
 
Spring Hill got the victory at Tartt Field 14-12 over the Tigers on March 16. This will mark the 18th time the two teams have squared off against each other. The Tigers lead the series, 10-7.
 
West Alabama enters the midweek game with a 7-20 record while the Badgers are 12-9. 
 
Payton Graben is expected to make his first start and appearance of the season on the mound for the Tigers. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound sophomore from Munford, Alabama transferred to UWA from Talladega College, where he had no record in 12 appearances.
 
UWA outfielder Colden Peeples comes into the contest swinging a hot bat with a nine-game hitting streak, collecting five hits during the weekend series at Christian Brothers. 
 
Tiger outfielder Josh Bower leads the team with a batting average of .380 and has three homers. Brayden Lyman and Gavin Rogers have three home runs each and have combined to driven in 41 runs.
 
Jake Nemith has reached base in 43 straight games dating back to last season. The Tiger third baseman has a team-high five homers while batting .351. 
 
Micah Morgan leads the Badger bats with seven home runs and 36 runs batted in. Spring Hill is undecided on who will be the starting pitcher.

West Alabama returns to Gulf South Conference by hosting a three-game series with West Georgia this weekend at Tartt Field. First pitch for Friday's single game is set for 5 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader gets underway at 1 p.m.
