UWA to Host UWG in GSC Series

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama baseball will try to bounce back after a midweek loss at Spring Hill as they take on West Georgia in a Gulf South Conference series beginning Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.

For Tiger fans who can't make it to Tartt Field, all three games are scheduled to be broadcast on SLY 104.9 and the UWA Athletics YouTube page with play-by-play from Mark Gilliam. Live stats will also be provided.

Both teams look to heat up as they enter the second half of the season with the Tigers at 7-21 overall, 5-7 in GSC action. The Wolves are 12-11 and 5-9.

UWA outfielder Josh Bower leads the Tigers with a batting average of .378 and has collected 42 hits, driven in 18 runs and has four homers. Colden Peeples owns a 10-game hitting streak and has 11 stolen bases.

Tiger shortstop Jake Nemith has a team-high five home runs, has reached base in all 28 games this season and has 14 multi-hit games. Brayden Lyman has added 23 runs batted in on 32 hits.

The Wolves bats are led by Brody Wortham who bats .412 with five homers and is on a 23-game hit streak. Anthony Calabro has 22 runs batted in.

Neither team has announced a starting pitching rotation.
