Tiger Baseball Heads to AUM for GSC Series

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – West Alabama baseball hits the road for a Gulf South Conference series at the AUM Baseball Complex against Auburn-Montgomery beginning with a single game Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.

The entire weekend series will be broadcast on SLY 104.9 with play-by-play provided by Will Atkinson. AUM athletics will offer a livestream of the game along with live stats.

UWA enters the weekend series with an 8-23 overall record, 6-9 in GSC play. The Warhawks are 18-13 and 8-7.

Friday's single game will be the 67th game in a series that Auburn-Montgomery leads, 36-31.

UWA's Josh Bower leads the Tigers with a batting average of .377 and has collected 46 hits, driven in 23 runs, and has six home runs. Brayden Lyman is hitting .314 and leads West Alabama with 28 runs batted in.

Tiger shortstop Jake Nemith is hitting .357 with 27 RBI and has hit five homers. Colden Peeples, Nemith, and Lyman have collectively stolen 29 bases on 34 attempts. Peeples leads the team with 13.

The Warhawk bats are led by Jackson Ceman, who is hitting .363, followed by Brody Syer at .352 with a team-high 35 RBI and five home runs. Kasey Clark enters the series on a nine game hitting streak.

Neither team has announced a starting pitcher rotation.
