UWA Baseball Visits William Carey on Tuesday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – West Alabama and William Carey will square off on the baseball field for the second time in a week, this time playing at Milton Wheeler Field on Tuesday with the first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m.
 
The Tigers bring in an overall record of 12-29 and 9-15 in Gulf South Conference action. William Carey is 26-15 and 13-8 in Southern States Athletic Conference which is part of the NAIA.
 
The Tigers defeated William Carey at Tartt Field on April 12th by a final score of 7-5.
 
Josh Bower leads the Tigers with a .368 batting average and has hit 14 doubles, seven homeruns, and drove in 31 runs. Jake Nemith has batted in 37 runs and has hit six homers. Bower and Nemith have each collected 57 hits.
 
Tiger catcher Jonathan Thibodeau has the third best batting average on the team, with it being .330 he has 32 hits and 10 runs batted in. Brayden Lyman has five homers and a team-high of 40 runs batted in.
 
Outfielder Colden Peeples leads the Tigers with 16 stolen bases while Lyman and Nemith both have nine stolen bases. Kyle Vogler has reached base in 13 consecutive games and has 43 hits on the year.
 
The Crusaders are led by RJ Stinson who bats .412 and has tallied 54 hits along with 35 runs batted in. Patrick Lee bats .360 and has 40 hits and 23 runs batted in.

Neither team has announced a starting pitcher for the midweek nonconference game.
