Track and Field to Compete in Georgia Tech Invitational

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama track and field is set to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Atlanta, Ga. at the George C. Griffin Track on the campus of Georgia Tech.
 
West Alabama is expected to have 15 athletes competing in the meet with over
 
Events are scheduled to begin at noon on Friday with the hammer. At 5:30 p.m. field events will begin with shot put, javelin, pole vault, and long jump.
 
Women's 100-meter hurdles will start at 5:30 p.m. followed by, the 110-meter hurdle for the men. At 6:15 p.m. will be the 100-meter sprint.
 
The long distance running events will be Friday night starting at 6:50 p.m. with the 5,000-meter section two run and going until 9:25 p.m. with the 5,000-meters section one run, between will be the 1,500-meter run and the 3,000-meter run.
 
Saturday will start at Noon with high jump, pole vault, triple jump, and the discus which will wrap up the field events.
 
At 1 p.m. the remaining running events will take place with the 4x100-meter relay starting, followed by the 400-meter hurdles at 1:15 p.m. and the 400-meter sprint at 1:45 p.m. The 800-meter run will begin at 2:30 p.m. followed by 200-meter sprint and the 4x400-meter relay at 4:30 p.m.
