Baseball to Host Miles on Wednesday

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama baseball hosts its final home game of the season at Tartt Field against Miles College at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in a nonconference game.
 
The Tigers are 14-31 overall and the Golden Bears bring in a 23-17 record. Both teams are coming off conference series wins as UWA took two of three from Delta State and Miles took two of three from Kentucky State.
 
The Tiger bats are led by Josh Bower who has a batting average of .367. Bower has 62 hits, eight home runs, and has 37 runs batted in. Bower has hit a team high of 15 doubles, which is good for third in the Gulf South Conference.
 
Brayden Lyman has 57 hits, 43 runs batted in, and hit five balls out of the yard. Lyman has stolen 11 bases this season. Bower and Lyman bring in eight-game hitting streaks.
 
Infielder Jake Nemith brings in 60 hits, seven home runs, and has hit nine doubles. Nemith has crossed home plate 41 times this season and has drove in 41 runs.
 
The Golden Bears are led by Kody Long who has a batting average of .414 and has 41 hits. Michael Archie has hit 10 homers.
 
Neither team has released a starting pitcher for the midweek game.
 
The game will be broadcasted on SLY 104.9 with Will Atkinson handling the play-by-play duties. Live stream and live stats will also be offered.
