UWA Tennis Travels to Delta State for GSC Match

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – West Alabama tennis hits the road to take on Delta State Sunday at the Cleveland Country Club with the first serve at 2 p.m. in a Gulf South Conference match. 
 
The Tiger women are 12-4 overall and 7-0 in GSC competition while the men are 7-6 and 4-2. Both teams have clinched a spot in the 2022 GSC Tennis Championships which will be April 28-30 in Montgomery, Ala. 
 
The Tiger women are ranked No. 13 in the latest ITA Rankings and the men are ranked No. 34. The Delta State men are ranked No. 57. 
 
The Delta State men are 6-7 overall and 4-3 in the GSC while the Lady Statesmen women are 3-8 and 1-6. 
 
Katia de la Garza is 11-0 in her singles matches. Haina Franco is 11-1 in singles matches, all being played at No. 2 singles. Almudena Sanz has played No. 1 singles all year and is 12-2 in her matches. 
 
On the men's side, Loic Danze has been 9-1 in his singles matches. Ilia Dehodiuk is 4-1 in conference single matches.
