Vanessa Westfall Signs with UWA Softball

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama softball head coach Stephanie Defeo announced the signing of Vanessa Westfall. The infielder is a transfer from Volunteer State Community College. 
 
"Vanessa is another great addition to our team," Defeo said. "She will make us better in the infield. She knows the game very well and is extremely consistent."
 
Westfall played in 122 games over three seasons at Volunteer State. She tallied 163 hits with 28 doubles and five triples. She scored 132 runs and batted in 110 runs during her time as a Pioneer. 
 
The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native ended the 2022 season with a .412 batting average over 56 games. She tallied 77 hits with 13 doubles and three triples. She scored 54 runs and batted in 45 runs as the Pioneers went 48-9 overall and 29-5 in conference play. 
 
Westfall hit a .374 during the 2021 season. She tallied 61 hits, scored 52 runs, and batted in 41 runs. The Pioneers finished the 2021 season with a 38-10 overall record and went 25-3 in the conference. 
 
In Westfall's first season as a Pioneer, she had a .391 batting average in 2020. She tallied 25 hits with six doubles and two triples. She scored 26 runs and batted in 24 runs. In 2020, Volunteer State finished with a 15-3 overall record and a 7-1 conference record. 
 
Westfall was named to the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA) First Team All-Conference in 2021 and 2022.
 
"Offensively, she will compete for every at-bat," Defeo added. "We look forward to having her with us this season!"
 
Westfall graduated high school in 2019 from Siegel High School. Westfall was named to First Team All-District three times (2017, 2018, 2019), All-Tournament three times (2016, 2018, 2019), All-Mid State twice (2018, 2019), District Offensive Player of the Year (2018), and Daily News Journal's Offensive Player of the Year (2018).
