Wells Has Career-High of 31 Digs Against CBU

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - West Alabama volleyball team took Christian Brothers to five sets but fell short in the final set to drop the Gulf South Conference match 3-2 (25-23, 20-25, 25-15, 17-25, 15-13) Thursday evening inside Canale Arena. 

The Tigers are now 5-13 overall and 0-3 in GSC play. The Bucs improved to 3-9 overall and are 2-4 in the conference. 
 
Three Tigers posted double digits in kills. Nathalia Medeiros paced UWA attackers with a season-high of 13 kills, hitting .433. Chyna Dixon posted 10 kills, while Ally Craig 10 added 10 slams.

MacKenzie Wells tallied a match-high and a career-high of 31 digs. Wells also had three service aces. Dixon added 18 digs and dished out 22 assists. Quiara Dunson collected 13 digs. Maddie Van Dyke had 16 assists. 
 
CBU held the edge in kills (59-51) and assists (50-45). UWA held the advantage in digs (77-75), aces (9-7), and blocks (8-5). 

Maddi Rowley paced the Tigers  with 15 kills. Tia Rizvi had 24 assists. Kimmy Hammond led the Bucs with 21 digs. 

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday as they take on Mississippi College in a GSC matchup. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Clinton, Mississippi.
