Tigers Fall to West Florida on the Road

PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Alabama women's basketball team fell short to West Florida 52-43 inside UWF Field House in Gulf South Conference action Thursday evening. 
 
The Tigers dropped to 9-6 overall and 6-5 in GSC play. The Argos improved to 8-5 overall and are now 8-3 in the conference. 
 
Bria Dent led the Tigers with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Maryanne Logsdon posted 10 points and had five rebounds. Jala Williams dished out eight assists in the matchup. 

The Argos jumped to a 6-0 run to start the game. UWF held the 8-7 edge at the end of the first quarter. The Argos started the second quarter with an 8-0 run, extending their lead to 16-7. UWA closed out the half trailing 20-16. 
 
UWA came out of halftime with a 5-0 run. The Tigers outscored the Argos in the third quarter, cutting the Argos' lead to 33-32. UWF scored 19 points in the fourth quarter to close out the game with a 52-43 win.
 
The Argos shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the field, 13.3 percent (2-of-15) from the three-point range, and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from the foul line. Zoe Piller led the Argos with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Jaden Langford posted 10 points and grabbed four rebounds. 

The Tigers head to Valdosta, Georgia, on Saturday to take on Valdosta State. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. inside The Complex.
