LIVINGSTON, Ala.- The University of West Alabama men's soccer team defeated the Christian Brothers University Buccaneers in full-time by a score of 1-0 in Memphis.
Christian Brothers led the charge in shots overall (18) compared to West Alabama's six shots overall, but the Tigers had the advantage in shots on goal 2-0.
The first half treated neither team well offensively, with neither team scoring. Christian Brothers outshot West Alabama six shots to four in the first 45' of play.
West Alabama found the light at the end of the tunnel early in the 2nd half, as Baronyi Kengeye scored unassisted less than two minutes into the 2nd half of play. Christian Brothers couldn't find the goal for the remainder of regulation due to exemplary defense by the Tigers on the pitch, giving the men the 1-0 victory.
West Alabama will travel back home to take on Mississippi College in Livingston inside Tiger Stadium on Friday, October 13th. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
