LIVINGSTON, Ala.- Men's Basketball bounced back in a massive way in Pruitt Hall on Sunday as the Tigers took down top ten ranked Lincoln Memorial 75-64.
Kuran Garner led the scoring efforts with his second straight 20-point game for the Tigers, along with 11 rebounds and three assists. Garner cashed in on a team high of 13 free throws. Jaylen Lemons followed suit with 17 points while shooting 50% from three. Thaddeus Williams scored ten points, rounding out all three Tiger Guards with double digit games.
Guard/Foward Caleb McGill offered a massive boost off the bench, shooting 3-5 from three and supplying an excellent defensive effort in just 19 minutes.
The Tigers outscored LMU 42-29 in the second half after shooting 9-31 in the first half. The Tigers turned the tide at the end of the first half started by two free throw makes by Kuran Garner with 2:32 to go, closing the gap to only five points. LMU's Elijah Brentwood answered with a tip in with 1:26 to go.
Jaylen Lemons knocked down two free throws with 1:13 to go, putting the deficit back at 5. Caleb McGill minimized LMU's halftime lead with a massive three with 15 seconds to go in the first half.
Kuran Garner closed out the massive win with 8 points from the charity stripe and the field in the last 43 seconds of play. Garner's 13-14 performance from the line was the catalyst that put the Tigers ver the top tonight.
West Alabama moves to 3-1 on the year and will finish out their pre-Thanksgiving schedule against Oakwood on Tuesday, November 21st in Pruitt Hall. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
